Do you have the discipline to adhere to a particular life process? Whatever your philosophy there are life processes that will bring you into alignment of your true self. Adherence according to Dictionary.com is the quality of steady devotion, support, allegiance or attachment. Adherence is a commitment. Most people can adhere to something for a short sprint but many cannot hold a course for an extended period of time. It is important to know that the only way to hold a course for an extended period of time is to follow your heart’s desire.
A person’s heart’s desire is not what they want, it is what God wants for them. Our heart’s desire is attached to who God want us to be. It can be found by finding our talents. We can take an employment inventory and see what we enjoyed and what we didn’t. Our heart’s desire will bring us satisfaction. I may have things I don’t like to do but I am willing to do them in order to do what I like to do. Most people are working for a paycheck and not for satisfaction. We must be satisfied if we are going to adhere to a long exhausting life process.
I have had sixty jobs and seven careers. I have liked parts of most of my jobs with only a few that were merely to get through a hard time. When I crawl into a client’s head I realize how I needed most of my past experiences in order to not get lost in the mire they are struggling with. I don’t know how anyone could be a good psychologist without the experience. I don’t think any classroom teaches enough to get through life. Trial and error mixed with science and art will make a person great. If you want to know how to adhere to a life process remember…
