Deserving

The definition of deserving, according to Dictionary.com is qualified for or having a claim to reward, assistance, etc., because of one’s actions, qualities or situation; meriting; worthy. When I use the term deserving I do not use it in the same string of thought as entitlement. I deserve God’s love but I am not entitled. There are things that must be done to achieve what I deserve. I am worthy but not entitled. God’s love is available to me but I must approach God to know God.

Entitlement is when people sit around with their hands open waiting for something to be delivered to them. Deserving is doing what is required to achieve, knowing that the outcome is foreknown. I know that God offers grace freely yet I must stay in constant conscious contact with God in order to manifest it. I must love the way God loves; unconditionally.

I spent my life being told by religion I didn’t deserve God’s grace. I have since realized that it is God’s desire that all of mankind realize grace. When we realize grace we return it, and eventually when all of humanity has realized grace we could rebuild the Garden of Eden. It was Jesus’ desire that we all love one another in order to recapture God’s original wishes for humanity. I am made in God’s image and likeness and must manifest spiritual grace at this level to be blessed. The best way I know to remember I am deserving is to remember…

Dynamic

Are you dynamic? Are you static? According to Dictionary.com dynamic is being vigorously active or forceful: energetic. Dynamic is also used to declare the opposite of static. We are always moving forward as the universe only moves forward. We may be moving as much sideways as forward and we can’t see our progress. The answer is not to move or not it is to move dynamically by doing what we are meant to do, where we find our passion.

People who are not dynamic are usually people who are living their life by another’s dream or vision. Many parents guide their children to finish what they started or to achieve a level of success they wanted. When we wish for others to achieve their ultimate potential with no personal gain we are truly loving our fellow human being. Humans find it hard to keep their personal wants and needs out of our outward desire to help.

Dynamic personalities have clear vision, focused intent and gratitude. Most dynamic people have spiritual lives. Spirituality is a sense of oneness more than a knowledge of God. It seems that the people who are the most dynamic don’t spend a lot of time finding answers as much as finding balance and self. If you want to know how to be more dynamic learn to let instead of make. Remember that we know what we are if we only remember…

Vacation

When was the last time you took a vacation. I don’t mean time off. I mean removing something from your bucket list. Vacation, according to Dictionary.com is an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or in traveling. A vacation is a time of rejuvenation a chance to change your surroundings and change your perspective. Albert Einstein said, “You cannot fix a problem with the same thoughts that created it.”

My wife and I decided nearly twenty years ago to purchase a fractional vacation property to literally force us to vacation. Time off is not rejuvenation, it is merely rest. Vacations are exhilarating, enlightening, broadening; they open our minds and instill new thought. We always come home from a vacation with renewed will for work. If we don’t enjoy the reasons why we work we lose our passion for work. You cannot advance yourself if you don’t renew yourself.

I have been blessed by vacations. I have learned much by my travels. I see our country through the eyes of our neighbors and have become very aware of our short comings as we are too close to see ourselves. Zen Buddhism says, “We don’t see the world as it is; we see it as we are.” Vacations allow our mind to broaden, our eyes to open and our world to shrink. If you want to know if you vacation enough remember…

Adaptation

Can you adapt? Are you rigid or are you flexible? Adapt according to Dictionary.com is to make (something) suitable for a new use or purpose; modify; become adjusted to new conditions. Successful people are adaptive. Success requires high expectations yet adaptation to changing conditions. If we think we can, we can; if we think we can’t we can’t! We must have a plan and stay adaptive.

Adaptation is something we must continue to work on. We must stay confident without becoming arrogant. We must not allow our Ego to control us otherwise adaptation, which requires intuition, is stifled. Our best is never our best if we don’t tap into our spiritual self. Our Ego is our limitation, while God is our absolute. A clear goal, a well thought plan, hard work and adaptation is a guarantee for success.

I want the coming year to be a pleasing one. I want to have fewer goals, while I want those goals to be clear and focused. I want to take time to allow God to clarify my thoughts allowing me to work smarter and not harder. I want to stay adaptive and quick to change direction when necessary. I want to take every opportunity to relax and rest. I want to stop trying and to start letting. I know if I let God have a bigger part in my life I will have a better life. We will know when we need to be adaptive by remembering…
