Resolution

Bringing in the New Year most people are planning to make New Year resolutions. The majority of these resolutions will never see fruition. According to Dictionary.com resolution means the act of resolving or determining upon an action; course of action, method, procedure, etc. Resolve is determination. The reason most people don’t meet their resolution is because they have never resolved their past prior to resolving to change their future.

To change our lives, we must first look at our past, find the fault in it, find resolve for the fault or defect of character that created the fault and make room for the new resolution. To change a behavior, we must first resolve to change the behavior and appoint cure to the cause. The great law of the universe is, “Cause and Effect.” To change the effect, we must change the cause. The cause is the “fly in the ointment.” When we stop the cause we stop the effect and when we change the cause we change the effect.

Today before you make your New Year’s Resolution look to the past and settle it before moving on to the future. When you clear away the wreckage of you past you will be able to passionately apply your resolutions and passion empowers action and improves the chances of your success. Successful people resolve their obstructions in life and apply wisdom to their daily lives. Wisdom is merely common sense or Good Orderly Direction (GOD). If you want to know what your New Year’s resolution should be, remember…

Reluctance

Reluctance according to Dictionary.com is unwillingness; disinclination. Reluctance is a symptom of a lack of faith. The Bible’s full lesson is about faith. To believe in something enough to give it full faith is a hard thing to do. Most people say they believe but their actions don’t demonstrate it. Actions manifest final expression of every thought. Thought aligned spiritually creates greatness and thought aligned material creates lack.

I work feverishly to be faith driven and less reluctant. I don’t want my life determined by reluctance, I want it to be established on faith. To keep my faith strong, I work tirelessly on building a true understanding of God and believe strongly in God’s unconditional love or grace. People say they believe Jesus died for their sins but their lives don’t embellish faith. People who are reluctant to display their faith don’t have any.

Avoid reluctance! Pray and meditate constantly and don’t move until faith drives you forward. I used to have God hired as a janitor and God was always picking up after me. Today I have fired God as my janitor and rehired God as my scout. I wait patiently for my scout to bring me proper information before I charge forward. When I have the proper information I move through my life with faith and courage. If you want to know how to remove reluctance in your life remember…

Anesthesia

I work with many people who are anesthetized, some medically and others psychologically. Whatever the anesthesia most people are not capable of being here now where God exists. Anesthesia according to Dictionary.com is described pathologically as general loss of the senses of feeling, as pain, heat, cold, touch and other less common varieties of sensation. The psychological description of anesthesia is the absence of sensation due to psychological processes, as inconversion disorders.

Whatever the reason people are anesthetized they are only treating the symptom and not the disorder. If you don’t pull out the sliver the infection will never go away and the treatment will be permanent. Once I have crawled into the darkness of a person’s psyche I can generally find the sliver and with the assistance of the patient we can remove it. If we can’t dislodge the problem, there is no permanent solution. I do not condemn anesthetization on the short term but it is not a permanent solution. If the problem is not resolved the short term solution can become more dangerous than the original problem.

I find more and more people are terrorized by their humanness and as a way to obscure their discomfort they use alcohol, drugs, food, sex and any other form of anesthesia. These forms of anesthesia eventually become addiction either chemical or emotional. Many times when I try to separate a person from their need for anesthesia I am met with tremendous animosity. Their friend has become their adversary and they still see it as their friend. We must realize that the only permanent solution to all my problems are God and eventually all my crutches must be thrown away. If you want to know if you are anesthetized remember…

Work

A vast majority of the people I have met over the past sixty-three years feel burdened by work. Work according to Dictionary.com is exertion or effort directed to produce or accomplish something; labor; toil. I am not in conflict with the definition. I am in conflict with the choices we make in what we decide to work at. Most people tend to choose a career that provides riches not abundance and usually at the suggestion of people who are more interested in their own desires.

We are all designed with talent. We are blessed with talents. We should glorify God by adding passion to our talents and take action on this unique package toward a career. This career will blossom if we bring all we are to our work with a loving and grateful attitude. Our lives will be blessed with happiness for which there is not enough money in the world to purchase. We must earn happiness through our lives, which work encompasses such a large part of.

Work isn’t always wonderful but it is always enriching. I have had over sixty jobs and feel blessed by the amount of understanding and common sense I have received by them all. As a life coach I am blessed with the opportunity to help people understand God and life in order to stop fighting and start their lives over with self-awareness. Once we gain awareness of self our work becomes, “I get to go to work!” instead of, “I have to go to work.” If you want to know what you should choose for work remember…

Preparation

Nothing gets accomplished without sufficient preparation. Nothing just happens. According to Dictionary.com preparation is any proceeding, experience or the like considered as a mode of preparation for the future. Due to the need for preparation for things to happen we must assuredly set goals and plans in order to sufficiently make proper preparations.

When we set goals we set them firm but not rigid. We then make plans or guideposts to stay on the task at hand. Preparation is necessary to follow our plan and allow changes to either the goal or the plans. If we fail to prepare we lose our perspective and get too focused on the finish line and forget about the journey. It is like a football receiver who starts to head toward the goal line before they have completed the catch.

I have interviewed many successful people and realize the unseen preparation and effort are applied to all successful transactions. Neither luck, hard work, intelligence or even intuition alone can guarantee success but when sufficient preparation is added to all these things, success happens. Even when one doesn’t achieve their goal the lessons experienced build a foundation for future success. If you want to know how you can achieve success remember…

Rapture

The Bible and most Christians talk of the rapture. It is the experience of meeting Jesus on their way to heaven. Rapture according to Dictionary.com is ecstatic joy or delight; joyful ecstasy. I refuse to argue the Christian theology but what I don’t understand is the interim or wait. Why should I wait to meet Jesus when he is within me? I am embedded with the Christ-self. I am made in God’s image and likeness in equal measure to Jesus. Jesus himself said we are like him.

Rapture is not what I wait for it is the state of mind, body and spirit I continue to strive toward. I have experienced rapture. The reality is that the degree of feeling or love required to spark such great experience can only be achieved by living within my spiritual nature.  My human nature can only experience pleasure and pleasure in no way mount up to rapture. I spent years trying to find ultimate experience through sex, alcohol, drugs, food and any other pleasing human experience only to find the fall greater than the climb. All my human desires led to my demise.

When I surrendered to God I found my ladder to rapture. I lost the majority of my fear and acquired the understanding of grace or unconditional love. I have nothing to prove other than my loyalty to God. My whole life is dedicated to God and God showers me with rapture. I am blessed with a great wife, children and friends. I am blessed with financial satisfaction. I am blessed with the opportunity to move back toward God when I lose my way. I have a blessed life and the only way I can lose it is with the loss of faith and trust in God. If you want to find rapture in your life remember…
