Purpose

Do you have purpose? Is it clear in your mind and focused to a pin point? Purpose according to Dictionary.com is a reason for which something exists, is done, made or used. Purpose is an intended or desired result, end or aim. Purpose is a goal supported by determination or resoluteness. The late Wayne Dyer stressed intention, which is primarily a person’s purpose. A life without purpose is not much of a life. Washington Irving once said, “Great minds have purpose; others have wishes.”

The key to having a proper purpose is to make it your purpose. We were all born with purpose as it is in our DNA. When we were born we were instilled with a purpose. Most of us have either never looked within to realize our purpose or have allowed ourselves to be saddled with the purpose of someone else. It may be our mother, father or someone else who sold us on the need to achieve their purpose, which is often done by parents, or other forms of heroes unknowingly.

I have found that most of my clients are suffering from mental dilemmas created partly due to distancing themselves from their purpose. I have met many an intelligent person trying desperately to become someone they were never meant to be frustrated with their failure. If you can find your personal purpose you will also find a toolbox within yourself associated with that purpose. God has a purpose for all of us as it is buried within us. You can only find it through prayer and meditation. If you really want to know your purpose remember…

Penance

Penance! Are you shitting me? Dictionary.com defines penance as a punishment or penitential discipline imposed by church authority in token of penitence for sin. ¬†Churches have no authority in matters relating to God. We are made in God’s image and likeness and are directly connected and responsible to God. Sin is natural in our human self and replaces our love for God, therefore separates us from God. Separation from God is enough punishment without the church thinking it must punish us also.

Whether guilt and remorse are present from sin or not, penance is not necessary. We are spiritually guided away from sin by our conscience. We might use drugs, alcohol, food, sex, work, etc. to hide from our conscience but eventually conscience will win. Nothing we put before God can outlast the love and patience of God. Sociopaths do not feel guilt or remorse as they are mentally and emotionally separated from their conscience and need to be separated from society for all concerned.

Fear can only survive in darkness provided by separation from God and, as compelled by spiritual law, is the primary symptom of spiritual separation. But, as is also a spiritual law, grace denies any and all separation from God. God loves us enough to go to any extreme to keep us for itself. Grace does not require penance. Grace is a gift from God and has no price. God knows all the struggles we have with our Ego but will always stand beside us in our spiritual quest.

Penance or punishment has nor will ever work as a deterrent to sin as it is not a derivative of love. Pain, a symptom of spiritual separation, is not a punishment from God it is God’s way of showing love. Removing pain requires a change of condition, thought or behavior, or repentance. To repent is to change one’s mind, which will change one’s behavior. If you want to avoid penance remember…

Achievement

Is achievement really that important? Dictionary.com defines achievement as something accomplished, especially by superior ability, special effort, great courage, etc. I know people who believe that achievement is everything and those who believe achievement is not necessary at all. I believe that if one sets all their eggs in the basket of achievement they will eventually end up with nothing but shells. I also believe that people who have no achievements have no esteem, therefore suffer with at least minimal depression.

We are all made in God’s image and therefore are made to create. Achievements are creations from our God given talents, courage and determination. When achievements are humbly portrayed as a blessings they ¬†improve our relationship with God and our understanding of our godliness. We must continue to achieve as long as we are given the opportunity to live on this planet as it is definitely a given opportunity. Never let temporary failure destroy opportunities.

The reason I am so against supporting poverty in any way is that I believe all support should actually be support and not enabling. All of our efforts should be toward helping people to achieve and most of the time when you pour money at something you merely extend the problem and not resolve it. In all the years I have been working with people I have always seen low esteem in low achievement. I have also seen low esteem in high achievement when Ego takes all the credit.

When I get up early and get into the stream of life I tend to achieve more. When I use my achievements to help others achieve I expand my achievement. When my friends, my family and I am winning my esteem is at it’s highest. When I feel I am making God proud of all that I do with the opportunity that is presented to me, my relationship with God is at it’s best. Achieve your best. Help others to achieve their best. Give God the credit for all your achievements and if you want to know how you are doing remember…
