Grace

I have read the Bible many times. The first time I read the Bible was in a catechism class, under the critical eye of the minister of our Lutheran church. I had many questions and many less satisfactory answers. The Old and New Testaments didn't seem to have any congruence, yet the minister had been taught what he knew and it was his job to convince me of the Lutheran Way instead of allowing my my own conception. The problem is that by trying to mold me, they lost me.

A couple more times I tried being guided through the Bible by supposedly Biblical scholars without success. Everyone tried to force me into their belief and every time my questions remained unanswered. I finally went to a Science of Mind Church, which proclaimed metaphysical interpretation of the Bible and all my questions were instantly resolved. The problem was not the Bible but the narrow minded interpretation of religions who are sure that their way is the only way to knowing God.

This search for truth has been my life long passion. This need to know God has led me to my current spiritual conviction, which is all encompassing. I do not want to follow the narrow minded approach of my predecessors. If all the religions would see the God through the eyes of all the other religions they would see the true God and not the single facet of God they preach. We are all one and we all see God as Zen Buddhists proclaim, "We don't see life as it is; we see life as we are."

The key to my current understanding of the Bible is a single word; grace. Grace means unconditional love. God cannot judge men as he is grace, therefore non judging. God loves all mankind with a love that is unable to be understood from a humanly judgmental point of reference. It is not God that does; it is humans that do. God speaks to humans in meditation and yet most people do not understand let alone practice meditation. Mankind is in a sort of trance created by outside influence and the only cure is the calmness found in meditation.

Unless we can learn to meditate, or slow down the world around us, we cannot focus within, where our answers await us. And if we do not learn to listen to God we will stay entranced and will be led over the cliff by brain washed do-gooders. We must find our direction from a God of grace. It is my understanding of a God of grace that allows me to turn my entire will and my complete life over to the loving care of God. Once God is my vision all I see is loving opportunity. I walk with the passion that can only be found in spiritually enhanced gratitude. I am grateful for God's grace, his love for me and the ability to always remember...
